How To Root Huawei Honor Holly

There are currently no guides to root this killer phone, Huawei Honor Holly, so my friend on Facebook asked me to root his phone. Because he was so tensed as he never had a MediaTek device, he didn't allow me to have a ReadBack of his phone as when I told that his phone will sleep for 30 minutes till ReadBack, he was afraid that his phone will brick. So obviously I had to root it with an application only because he wasn't allowing me to flash anything onto his phone. Hive UI Ported To MediaTek devices!

My friend, Yogesh while having chat on Facebook told me that HIVE UI which is made by Indian manufacturer Xolo had been ported to MediaTek SoC specifically to MediaTek MT6582, MT6582M and other siblings of MT6582 Chipset by a good developer who earlier ported ColorOS to Micromax unit 2 which some of our good develop developers failed to do so. 

As of now, only Micromax colors and Micromax unite 2 has got this ROM. The ROM was ported from Xolo, an MT6592 device and the developer has worked hard to bring it to other SoC too. It has not been yet released for Micromax unite 2 and looks like the developer is fixing some bugs in the rom. Currently we don't have any knowledge about this thing because the developer is not replying to the queries my friend mentioned. Like mt6589 has Sony Xperia ROM which currently has been not ported to other SoCs, MT6582 too got something to outshine other phones running different SoCs.
The interesting thing in this ROM is that it is developed by Indian OEM and Xolo is first to make their custom os like Samsung (TouchWiz), Oppo (Color OS) etc. Xolo released it only with their one device whereas soon it will be ported to hundreds of device as soon the ROM is out for Unite 2.

We are back with another cool ROM. This is a ROM which is faster than all current ROMs available for our Micromax Unite 2. This is just like Micromax's stock ROM or based on pure Google's ROM i.e., AOSP ROM with some internal tweaks for making the device faster and when we installed this on our device, we were surprised by the performance. Using ART runtime and this ROM made Micromax Unite 2. The best thing about this ROM is, that being based on AOSP, custom themes which can be installed and used using HK Theme Manager works brilliant. Carliv Touch Recovery For Lenovo A7-30 A3300-GV (KitKat)

This is actually the most popular custom recovery for MediaTek based devices, because it is available for almost every next MediaTek device and now the recovery even supports UBIFS devices thus making it the best recovery which supports maximum number of MediaTek devices. I have ported this recovery to my tab, Lenovo A7-30 A3300-GV. Again, the touch problem is still there, but fortunately, we can use the volume keys to move up/down in the recovery and is far stable than the other recovery- TWRP recovery which I posted earlier on my blog. This recovery's touch is also broken as in earlier, but if you use it carefully, you can use it.

How To Flash CTR 2.4 Recovery on Lenovo A7-30 A3300-GV

• Download recovery from here and move it to SD Card.
• Install and open RashR recovery.
• Backup the stock kernel and recovery from the application.
• Select Recovery and then From other Storage.
• Choose CTR-2.4_Lenovo_A7-30.img from SD Card.
• Now confirm the flash.
• It will prompt to reboot to recovery. Your decision.

To go back in CTR recovery, like from Backup/Restore menu to main menu, just swipe from down to up on the half right side screen of the recovery!

TWRP Recovery For Lenovo A7-30 A3300-GV (KitKat)

Hi guys, on this, my personal blog, I will be blogging about only my creations and not of others nor will promote others. This is my first work on this blog and this is about Lenovo A7-30 A3300GV tablet. Let me totally be clear that this is not at all a stable recovery which you're expecting, but a totally messed up recovery which I am uploading only for testing purpose. I haven't tested any option, but it probably looks that everything is working. Anyway, this recovery has the main problem of touch. The touch's X and Y axis are messed up. To fix that, we'll need to compile the recovery again, which I can't do because I don't have Ubuntu or Linux installed on my PC. Testers are welcomed, but if you break anything with this recovery, I ain't responsible for your mistakes. I haven't tested it on Jelly Bean, so I can't say anything about the JB ROM.

It's very tough to turn your device off after rebooting to this TWRP recovery because of touch problem. You will need to use adb reboot command in TWRP Recovery to reboot normally, else wait till the battery drains up completely. So it's not a recommended recovery, but just a test version.

How To Install TWRP Recovery On Lenovo A7-30 A3300-GV (KITKAT ONLY)

• Root your tablet and backup using MTK Droid Root and Tools.
• Download the TWRP Alpha recovery from here and move it to INTERNAL SDCARD.
• Download Rashr application from Google Play Store.
• Open the application and give it root access.
• Click on Backup and select the checkbox. Then click on Go.
• Again a popup will appear. Click on the checkbox and select Go to backup the recovery too.
• Select Recovery to flash a recovery and then click on Other from Storage which will show you contents of Internal SD Card.
  
  
  
  
• Select TWRP-2.8.0.0-Lenovo-A3300-GV-Alpha.img file from there.
  
  
• Confirm the flash.
  
  
  
  

You'll be in TWRP Recovery, the testing recovery. To reboot normally, type these commands and press enter in ADB:
